The Vigil for Freedom and Racial Justice
is a demonstration, call-to-action, and public platform outside the North Carolina Executive Mansion. Comprised of a small, regularly rotating group of people and organizations, our primary demand is that Gov. Roy Cooper uses his clemency power and all other means to decarcerate immediately.
The Vigil is a forum for real-time commentary of mostly directly-impacted participants. Through our digital footprint, The Vigil anchors and introduces a deep and broad range of narratives and concepts to a statewide audience.
